Mesoscale inertial transition in granular materials

چکیده
Granular assemblies can experience complex failure patterns along a given loading path, with distribution of ephemeral inertial events marked by local outbursts in kinetic energy. However, investigating such mechanisms appears to be necessary understand how certain mode develops granular material. Using discrete element method, this study highlights several microstructure reorganizations before the specimen reaches proper state. Meso structures have proven efficient elementary responsible for these Strain–like and stress-like quantities are thus defined at mesoscale they used characterize nucleation propagation microstructural events.
